Materials & Gear needed:
* laptop computer (bring laptops to class every class)
* Software:
- Adobe Creative Cloud (student academic discount direct from Adobe is roughly $9.99 per month for basic photographic work, or $19.99  for all Adobe apps. It is suggested to purchase these applications for the semester, but if needed you can simply use the Mac computers in Studio WH 214 that have the software as well.
- If  3d software is needed for your work you can use
Blender - https://www.blender.org/ It is a free and open-source 3D computer graphics software toolset used for creating animated films, visual effects, art, 3D printed models, interactive 3D applications and video games. Sage 2411 has a suite of 3d software http://www.hass.rpi.edu/pl/game-design-simulation-computer-facilities/Visualization-Animation-Simulation-Technology-studio you will need to demonstrate advanced ability and get access to this studio from your instructor.

* Digital stylus (we have some for use in WH 214 in class only, or you can borrow them from the Equipment Room for longer periods of time: http://www.arts.rpi.edu/pl/iear-studios-facilities/equipment-room )
* An active RCS account.
* An 50gb or more usb flash drive or portable hard drive
* A digital camera, 35 MM DSL,
or Sony’s newer Alpha A55 I.L.C. (“interchangeable-lens compacts”) camera, or a high end smaller camera with manual overdrives for exposure and focus.). A variety of cameras tripods and lights can be signed out from the HASS Equipment Room:

* Traditional tools as desired: drawing tools - 2B, 3B, or 4B soft drawing pencil, or ball point or felt tip pen, dry brush acrylic paint, paint brushes (we will have some drawing items in class to use as well if needed)
* Found materials for your assemblage
* Other materials on a project basis
* Journal: please consider keep a working log of ideas, drawings, photographs, dreams, influences, etc. which will act a source for your creative process. You should carry this with you at all times to record your creative insights. Bring them to class as well.

Fabrication costs/materials:
You will be making a number of digital prints/manifestations of your work. The costs of digital printing will vary, but be prepared to incur at approximately $84 in fabrication/material costs.
