Statement/Idea

RPI is a diverse school with many of the faculty and students coming in from different cultures or countries. However, it appears that diversity stops at the door as these groups start to segregate into departments. For instance, I've noticed that EMAC has a lot more females than the Engineering program. While I can claim to have observed this, it is merely speculation. The goal of this project is to determine the validity of the above observations.

I intend to go from class to class and department to department, collecting photos of the faces of students. Once I feel I have enough, I will divide them into categories based on their departments and classes. The faces in each category will then be evenly merged into one face, which will represent the face of that class or department. Finally, all of these faces will be merged together into a single face, the Face of RPI.
