This art installation centers
around another piece of art called
Six Random Lines Eccentric by George
Rickey. My intention with this piece
is to activate this public space
through sound. My inspiration is the
piece itself because when I look at
the piece and the area surrounding
the piece, I feel that the arms of
the moving sculpture are trying to
say something to the observer. If
you have ever listened to trees as
their leaves and branches rustle
in the wind, then you know how
alive that makes that particular
space. This moving sculpture bears
remarkable resemblence to a tree and
yet despite its arms moving because
of the wind, there is no sound. I
would like this sculpture to be able
to express its desire to live through
sound.
