Printing to the Epson 10,000 printer
The Epson 10,000 printer is up and
running! It is approved for use for Intermediate Digital Imaging and above level
students and Graduate level students and faculty only.
This printer makes very high quality,
high resolution archival images on multiple substrates including (at this point)
matt photo paper, cold press art paper and Tyvek. In the future we will be working
with other surfaces as well.
Important things to keep in mind when working with this printer:
* Prepare your images in TIFF or EPS format out of Illustrator 9, or Photoshop
6
at 300 PPI
* Flatten your image
* Use CMYK
* The Max paper size is 44" wide by 96" long (you need to give the
printer 2" on all sides so the max image size is 42" x 94" or
smaller
* costs are approximately $3.00 a square foot plus ink costs per job
* your file must be test proofed via another printer and then approved and signed
off by your instructor
* output your completed, approved image onto a CD, put your name and contact
info on the CD with the name of the file you wish to print
* make an appointment with Seana
