Organizing Your Web Site
- It’s
good practice to have one folder that holds all the files associated with
your pages.
- It’s
also helpful to have separate sub-folders for things like images, and other
media.
- If you think
about the overall structure of the site ahead of time, it helps with limiting
having to go back and change thinks like links later on.
- The bigger
the file size of the page, the larger the download time
Making Friends
with the Dreamweaver Application:
- Properties,
Object, and Launcher palettes/windows are the main ones you will use
- Create a New
Document: File >New
- Text Menu:
used to format text
- Insert Menu:
used to insert various media and content
- Objects Palette:
- Characters
(symbols not easily available on the keyboard)
- Common (images,
table, dates, mail links, etc.)
- Forms (items
associated with creating web forms)
- Frames (items
associated used to create a web page that is done using frames)
- Head (metatags)
- Invisibles
(named anchors, line breaks, comments)
- Can edit the
HTML directly by Clicking the HTML Source Button on the Launcher Window
- Preview in
Browser > F12Page Properties:
