ARTIST STATEMENT
it's been years... years since there's been a day that i've gone without a cigarette, years
since there's been a day when i have not been a slave to the tobacco empire.
and as sad as it is, i still love smoking. i know i have to stop at some point, but i have
let the event sit, distant and irrelevant, in the back of my mind.
and now as i tackle what is turning into one of the biggest challenges of my life, i will
work to put the power of my thoughts behind the will of my actions. through art i can
identify my weaknesses and accomplishments; through art i can focus my intentions and desires.
this project is a snapshot of my life in the context of my current challenge: quitting smoking.
