Per Tengstrand
Per Tengstrand’s performance at the EMPAC gala weekend was nothing short of spectacular. To tell you the honest truth, I do not like piano performances, along with other classical forms of music. However, I was blown away by his playing. I am not sure if it was the magnificent concert hall we were in, or just the fact that he is a truly gifted pianist, but I loved every minute I was in the hall listening to him play. As he played each of the pianos, I could hear the rich sound completely fill the concert hall in perfect clarity...

EMPAC: 306° Projection Screen
On the opening day of EMPAC, I went to the 306° Projection Screen room a few times. Quite frankly, I was absolutely blown away! I have never seen anything like it before. I felt happy, sad, frightened, confused, bored, and interested all during the same performance. If that’s the effect Dumb Type was going for, they succeeded. But I think the emotion that I felt the most consistently throughout the performance was confusion. Even now, while looking back on it, I still can’t put together what I saw in that theater. I could not find a discernable story, and when I thought I did, the mood, theme, and story seemed to change all at once. It was by far the most bizarre things I have seen in my life...
